The Indian Army launched 'Bhairav' on Maha Shivratri and thanked Amitabh Bachchan for his voice.

The Indian Army has unveiled Bhairav, a short film narrated by Amitabh Bachchan, highlighting the newly formed Bhairav Battalions and their crucial role in safeguarding national security. Sharing the announcement through the official handle of the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army), the force expressed sincere thanks to Bachchan for lending his iconic voice to the project.
The film was released on Maha Shivratri, a meaningful occasion as Bhairav represents a fierce form of Lord Shiva symbolizing protection and the destruction of evil. Positioned between the Para Special Forces and regular infantry, the Bhairav Battalions have been established to address the demands of modern warfare by delivering swift and precise offensive capabilities against emerging threats.
Formed as part of the Army’s restructuring efforts and inspired by lessons from global conflicts as well as its own Operation Sindoor, these units are designed for rapid, high-intensity operations. Soldiers in the battalions are trained to operate drones and conduct real-time targeting of enemy bases and formations. Reacting on X, Bachchan described his association with the initiative as an honour and privilege, dedicating his words to the brave warriors of the Army.
So far, around 15 Bhairav Battalions have been raised and deployed across various formations along both borders, with plans to expand the number to nearly 25 in the near future. These units are intended to bridge the gap between Para Special Forces and standard infantry, undertaking special operations from tactical to operational depths as required.
