The Delhi Assembly is expected to hold a special two-day session around mid-May to address key public concerns and to pass a Bill aimed at regulating fees charged by private schools, according to the ruling BJP. On Sunday, a BJP legislative party meeting was held at the Secretariat to prepare for the upcoming session. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Cabinet ministers, and BJP MLAs, as confirmed by Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood.

A BJP MLA stated that May 13 and 14 are the tentative dates for the session, although a final decision from the Cabinet is still pending. On April 29, the Delhi Cabinet approved a draft legislation titled the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, which proposes strict penalties and possible cancellation of registration for private schools that impose unauthorized fee hikes or harass students over fees.

BJP MLAs also reviewed other important matters such as water supply and preparations for monsoon-related issues like waterlogging. BJP chief whip Abhay Verma mentioned that the Chief Minister urged all MLAs to ensure timely completion of desilting and anti-waterlogging measures in vulnerable areas.

Additionally, Greater Kailash MLA Shikha Rai noted that the meeting focused on increasing BJP legislators' involvement in government schemes, including a recently announced 20-day cleanliness campaign. MLAs were also instructed to help expand the reach of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to benefit more residents.
