Three suicide attackers struck the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary unit on Monday (Nov 24), killing three personnel and injuring at least five others, according to officials. Police reported that the attackers fired shots while storming the Frontier Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar before detonating their explosives inside the compound. Deputy commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed that three members of the force were killed.

A senior official, speaking anonymously because he was not authorised to talk to the media, said the first bomber targeted the main gate, allowing the other two to enter the premises. He added that security forces, including the army and police, had sealed off the area amid suspicions that additional militants might still be inside.

The compound sits within a crowded part of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local resident Safdar Khan told Reuters that the surrounding roads were closed and heavily secured by law enforcement. Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Mohammad Asim reported that five injured people—including two paramilitary members—were transported there for treatment.

No group has yet taken responsibility for the attack. Militants in the region have intensified assaults in recent weeks following last month’s deadly border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan has accused the Afghan Taliban of sheltering militants responsible for cross-border attacks, a claim Afghanistan denies.
