Filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s 2007 movie Tara Rum Pum, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, continues to be fondly remembered by fans. Recently, the release of Brad Pitt’s new Formula 1-based film F1 sparked a wave of memes on social media, with Indian fans jokingly comparing the Hollywood project to Tara Rum Pum. Many claimed the international film draws inspiration from the Bollywood drama, which also revolves around racing and family struggles.
These memes eventually caught Siddharth Anand’s attention. In a humorous response, he shared a post referring to Tara Rum Pum as a “lovely beast,” playfully acknowledging the ongoing online banter. Tara Rum Pum tells the story of RV (played by Saif Ali Khan), a successful race car driver, and his wife Radhika (played by Rani Mukerji), as they face financial hardship and personal challenges while raising their two children.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Anand is busy working on his next big project, King, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. Originally, the film was to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, but Anand, who previously directed Pathaan, later took over. At an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh described Anand as a strict director and teased that he couldn’t reveal much about King due to confidentiality. The film recently went on floors in Mumbai and is expected to be a major release
