Rajnath Singh arrives in Puttaparthi to inaugurate key aerospace and defence initiatives in Andhra Pradesh.

Rajnath Singh arrived in Puttaparthi on Friday to participate in the foundation stone laying and groundbreaking ceremonies for several major aerospace and defence initiatives in Andhra Pradesh’s Sri Sathya Sai district. He was received at the airport by N. Chandrababu Naidu, Ram Mohan Naidu, and state minister Nara Lokesh.
The projects being launched include the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) Integration and Flight Testing Centre, a Naval Systems Facility, Defence Energetics units, Ammunition Plants, and Drone City developments. Singh shared details of his visit on X, stating that he would attend the launch ceremonies for key aerospace and defence infrastructure projects and expressed enthusiasm about the event.
Among the major developments, the Defence Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Aeronautical Development Agency’s Aircraft Integration and Flight Testing Centre, which is expected to boost aircraft integration, validation, testing, and certification activities for the AMCA programme. He will also inaugurate the foundation for Bharat Dynamics Limited’s advanced Naval Systems Manufacturing Facility at T. Sirasapalli village in Anakapalli district. The facility is designed to support the increasing demand for sophisticated underwater weapon and naval combat systems.
Groundbreaking ceremonies are additionally scheduled for the Defence Energetics Facility of Agneyastra Energetics Limited, a subsidiary of Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited; the Ammunition and Electric Fuzes Plant of HFCL Limited at Madakasira; and multiple Drone City projects in Kurnool. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the Andhra Pradesh government and participating organisations are also expected to be signed during the visit.
