A family in Kech district has accused Pakistani security forces of taking a teenage boy during a late-night raid in the Reko area of Buleda. The alleged incident has once again brought focus to the long-standing issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where protests on the matter continue in Quetta, according to The Balochistan Post.

Relatives said a large number of security personnel entered their neighborhood around 2 am and surrounded the home of Lal Jan. They claimed that women and children were frightened during the operation, after which Lal Jan’s teenage son was taken away to an undisclosed location. The family stated that no arrest warrant or reason was given, leaving them distressed and without information. The family remained silent after local elders assured them the boy would be released soon. However, more than ten days have passed with no updates on his condition or whereabouts, raising fears that he may have become a victim of enforced disappearance.

The family also said the teenager had faced harassment in the past. They alleged that last year he was assaulted while grazing goats by an influential person who claimed links to state institutions. Due to financial hardship and fear of retaliation, no formal complaint was filed at that time. The family has now urged authorities to clarify the reasons for the detention and ensure the minor’s safe return.

At the same time, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons said its protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club has continued for 6,056 days. The group reported that families of two men, Siraj Ahmed and Shahzaib, joined the protest after alleging the men were detained by state personnel in the Sariab Customs area on December 29 and have not been seen since.

VBMP claimed police refused to register cases related to these incidents and that senior officials have not offered any explanation. Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the organization would take the cases to the relevant commission and provincial authorities and raise the matter at all available forums. He insisted that if there are charges against the missing individuals, they should be presented in court, emphasizing that all detentions must follow constitutional and legal procedures.
