Police in Ahmedabad have seized 2,736 bottles of liquor allegedly smuggled from Rajasthan and concealed beneath old clothes. Three people have been arrested in connection with the case, while investigators are working to identify other individuals suspected of involvement in the illegal trade. According to media reports, the seized liquor was valued at approximately ₹6.33 lakh. Police also confiscated four mobile phones and three two-wheelers allegedly linked to the operation, taking the total estimated value of the seized items to around ₹7.78 lakh.

The case came to light after police received information about suspected illegal liquor storage in the Krishnanagar area of Ahmedabad. During the subsequent operation, officers reportedly discovered liquor bottles concealed in cardboard boxes beneath used clothing. Investigators suspect the consignments were transported from Rajasthan using courier and logistics services before being stored and distributed locally.

The three arrested individuals have been identified in media reports as Nishit Shah, Jay Pawar and Kishan Shah. Police are also investigating the suspected role of a supplier based in Sanchore, Rajasthan, and other individuals allegedly connected to the distribution network. Authorities are examining available evidence, including mobile phones and vehicles, to establish how the liquor was transported into Gujarat and identify its intended recipients.

Gujarat enforces strict prohibition laws, with alcohol prohibited except under applicable legal permissions and exemptions. The alleged use of old clothes to conceal liquor highlights the challenges authorities face in detecting illegal consignments moving through ordinary transport channels. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the operation and establish the roles of those suspected of involvement. The allegations remain subject to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
