Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha has been named the new Commissioner of Delhi Police, assuming office at a critical juncture just days after an alarming attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The appointment comes amid rising concerns over security and law and order in the national capital.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs officially appointed Golcha, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer, to the post, succeeding SBK Singh who was holding additional charge since the retirement of former Commissioner Sanjay Arora.
