In a strong gesture of support, singer Mika Singh has announced financial assistance of Rs 11 lakh for actor Rajpal Yadav, who surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026, to serve a six-month sentence in multiple cheque dishonour cases. Sharing a message on Instagram addressed to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor, Mika expressed both moral and monetary support during what he called a challenging period. He urged people not to limit their involvement to announcements on social media, but to ensure real contributions are made and properly executed.

The singer also posted a video appeal encouraging members of the film fraternity to come forward with meaningful and transparent financial help. He highlighted the importance of proper coordination within the industry so that funds reach the intended recipient and are used effectively. Actors Sonu Sood, Guru Randhawa and Gurmeet Choudhary have also extended public support to Yadav, appealing to others in the industry to assist him during this time.

Yadav’s imprisonment follows a Delhi High Court directive after he failed to meet a surrender deadline related to cheque dishonour cases. The Court had instructed him to surrender before any further hearing could proceed. The case arises from repeated breaches of commitments concerning the payment of settlement dues to a complainant company.

During the hearing, Yadav’s senior counsel informed the Court that the actor was ready to deposit Rs 25 lakh immediately and that both sides had tentatively agreed on a repayment plan for the remaining amount. However, the Court denied relief, noting that he had already been ordered to surrender on February 4, 2026. Justice Sharma stated that since Yadav had not complied with the surrender directive, he would only be heard after turning himself in.

Subsequently, Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5. The Court clarified that he could file an appropriate application in accordance with the law after doing so. As Yadav begins serving his sentence, several members of the film industry have come forward to offer support while he deals with ongoing legal and financial difficulties.
