A large number of devotees gathered at Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal on the eighth day of the Ganesh festival, with worshippers turning up to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations continue across Maharashtra with considerable enthusiasm, attracting devotees to several prominent pandals in Mumbai. Among them, Lalbaugcha Raja remains one of the festival’s biggest attractions, drawing an enormous number of visitors throughout the 10-day celebration.

The Lalbaugcha Raja tradition dates back to 1934 and has strong roots in Mumbai’s local community. Over the years, the idol has gained widespread recognition, with its popularity driven by religious faith, cultural traditions and its longstanding place in the city’s Ganeshotsav celebrations. A major reason devotees are drawn to Lalbaugcha Raja is the belief that the idol is a Navasacha Ganapati, or a form of Lord Ganesha believed to fulfil the wishes of devotees. Worshippers from Mumbai and beyond visit the pandal each year with prayers and personal vows.

The celebrations have also attracted several well-known personalities. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan recently visited Lalbaugcha Raja with his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan. The family participated in the aarti and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha during the ongoing festivities. Actor Ranveer Singh was also among the prominent visitors to the pandal. Wearing a traditional white kurta-pyjama and accompanied by security personnel, he arrived to seek blessings during Ganesh Chaturthi.

As the festival entered its eighth day, the continued turnout at Lalbaugcha Raja reflected the deep religious faith and cultural importance associated with Mumbai’s celebrated Ganeshotsav tradition. The festive atmosphere around the pandal remained vibrant as devotees continued to arrive for darshan and prayers.
