LONDON — Scarlett Johansson’s role in Jurassic World: Rebirth stirred nostalgic memories of her first experience with the iconic dinosaur franchise. The Black Widow star shared that she watched Jurassic Park in theatres at the age of 10, a moment that left a lasting impression. “It imprinted on me very deeply,” Johansson said at the film’s London premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. She added that for the next 30 years, she dreamed of being part of a Jurassic film “in any capacity.”

The latest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth, is directed by Gareth Edwards and continues the legacy of Michael Crichton’s original creation. It follows a group of specialists—including Johansson and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey—as they travel to a restricted island where a former Jurassic Park research lab is hidden. Their mission: retrieve DNA from three dinosaurs to help develop a critical medical breakthrough. Rupert Friend, also starring in the film, described the project as an exhilarating adventure full of surprises and risk.

Director Gareth Edwards, known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, admitted that the magnitude of the film only struck him upon arriving at the premiere. “It’s all front and centre here,” he said. “It feels a bit weird, to be honest.” Jurassic World: Rebirth, produced by Universal Pictures, is set to hit theatres on July 2, aiming to reignite audiences’ fascination with the prehistoric world that began over three decades ago.
