A devastating road accident in Jaipur claimed the lives of three children and left their parents critically injured after a speeding trailer allegedly lost control and rammed into the family on Ajmer Road on Tuesday morning, police said. The accident took place between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. near the 200 Feet Bypass on the busy Delhi-Ajmer Highway, close to a hotel. According to officials, the trailer was travelling from Jaipur towards Ajmer when it reportedly veered off the road.

Police said the family of five—a couple and their three children—was standing near a bus stop, waiting for public transport, when the heavy vehicle struck them before crashing into a roadside railing. Traffic Police officer Puniram Meena said the trailer hit the family while they were waiting at the bus stop. All three children died at the scene, while the parents sustained serious injuries. He added that the mother suffered severe leg injuries, with both of her legs reportedly fractured.

Confirming the incident, Surendra Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sodala, said police teams recovered the bodies of the three children from the spot, while the injured couple was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. ACP Amin Hasan of the Jaipur Traffic Police also stated that the family had been waiting for transportation when the trailer ran over them. Preliminary findings indicate that the children died instantly, while both parents remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Following the accident, police and emergency teams rushed to the scene, transported the injured for treatment, and sent the children's bodies to the mortuary at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The tragic incident also led to heavy traffic congestion along Ajmer Road as authorities worked to clear the area. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash and are examining the circumstances that led to the trailer losing control.
