Delhi Police Special Cell has successfully dismantled a terror module inspired by ISIS, arresting two suspected terrorists who were training for “fidayeen” (suicide) attacks. The arrests were made in a coordinated operation with one suspect apprehended in South Delhi’s Sadiq Nagar and the other in Madhya Pradesh. Authorities say the suspects were in advanced stages of preparing an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the national capital.

Officials confirmed the duo had close links with handlers associated with the banned ISIS group and were receiving training to carry out suicide missions. Arms and ammunition were seized during the raids. One of the arrested individuals has been identified as Adnan, a resident of Bhopal, while the other is from Delhi. Security and intelligence agencies are actively interrogating the suspects to expose the full network and prevent further threats.

This development marks a significant success for counter-terrorism efforts, as it helps to thwart a potentially devastating terrorist attack in Delhi. Such operations highlight the ongoing vigilance and coordination among various intelligence and police agencies. Experts note that ISIS-inspired terror modules in India have increasingly relied on remote handlers, often from neighboring countries, to coordinate attacks, using indoctrination and specialized training for fidayeen operations to inflict maximum damage.

The quick bust of this terror module is a reminder of the persistent threat posed by extremist groups and the importance of robust intelligence-sharing and preventive actions by law enforcement. It also underscores the need for continued public cooperation and alertness to information regarding suspicious activities.

The arrest of these two suspects not only disrupts an imminent threat but also serves as a warning to terrorist outfits that law enforcement agencies remain relentless in their efforts to safeguard national security. Ongoing investigations aim to dismantle the wider network and identify any other collaborators across states.
