Safroadu Yeboah-Amankwah, Intel’s Chief Strategy Officer, is set to leave the company at the end of this month, marking another key leadership shift since Lip-Bu Tan became CEO in March, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Intel confirmed the news, stating, "We are grateful for Saf’s contributions to Intel and wish him the best."

Yeboah-Amankwah, who has held the strategy chief role since 2020, will exit on June 30. During his tenure, he was responsible for Intel’s growth strategies, strategic alliances, and equity investments, among other duties. Some of his responsibilities will transition to Sachin Katti, who was recently appointed Chief Technology and AI Officer. Intel Capital, the company's venture investment arm, will now report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan, according to one of the sources and a third person familiar with the changes.

Tan, a seasoned investor and founder of venture firm Walden International, has already begun restructuring Intel’s leadership. He has reduced layers of middle management, taken direct control of the company’s key chip divisions—including those for data centers, AI, and personal computers—and brought in new engineering leaders.

These changes come as Intel tries to recover from years of manufacturing delays and missed opportunities in mobile and AI chip markets. Former CEO Pat Gelsinger had launched an aggressive turnaround plan, but his efforts reportedly worsened some of Intel’s issues. In 2024, Intel posted a net loss of $18.8 billion—the company’s first annual loss since 1986.
