India and the US discussed West Asia and boosted defence ties during Misri's visit.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged in extensive discussions with US Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby, focusing on recent developments in West Asia as well as exploring ways to strengthen defence industrial cooperation, technology sharing, and supply chain partnerships between India and the United States.
The Indian Embassy in the US shared details of these interactions through a series of posts on X. The meeting follows closely after Colby’s recent visit to New Delhi, where he held talks with senior officials to advance key priorities under the 2026 National Defence Strategy and to further reinforce the India-US defence partnership framework.
During their meeting at the Pentagon, Misri and Colby reviewed ongoing developments in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia, building on their earlier discussions held on the sidelines of the India-US Defence Policy Group meeting in New Delhi. In a separate interaction, Misri met US Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment Mike Duffey. Their discussions focused on enhancing defence industrial collaboration, strengthening technology ties, and building more resilient supply chains, aligned with the goals of the Major Defence Partnership framework agreed upon last year.
Misri held talks with Under Secretaries Jeffrey Kessler and William Kimmitt to expand cooperation in commercial and critical technologies, while also emphasizing the importance of secure and reliable supply chains. Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh is on an official visit to the United States. During his visit, he toured Peterson Space Force Base and met with General Gregory M. Guillot, Commander of US NORTHCOM. Their interaction involved a constructive exchange on operational strategies and highlighted the growing strength of the India-US partnership.
