Gundam official merchandise store is set to open at Jewel Changi Airport in 2026.

Gundam enthusiasts in Singapore have something exciting to look forward to! The franchise’s official merchandise store, The Gundam Base, is set to open at Jewel Changi Airport in early 2026, according to a Facebook announcement by BandaiHobby on Wednesday (Dec 3). BandaiHobby is operated by Bandai’s South Asia division, which produces Gundam merchandise.
The flagship store is being described as "a must-visit destination for every true Gundam fan" and will feature exclusive items available only at The Gundam Base outlets. Visitors can also enjoy special events, including free model-building workshops and displays of iconic Gunplas—the plastic models representing robots (mobile suits or mobile armor) and spacecraft from the Gundam universe. These models typically come unassembled, allowing fans to build them, and are classified into different grades based on size and level of detail.
The Gundam Base already has multiple stores in Japan, as well as locations in Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Thailand. Before the Singapore store officially opens, The Gundam Base will host a pop-up event at Singapore Comic Con, happening at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre from Dec 5 to 7. Gundam, a beloved sci-fi robot franchise, began as an anime in 1979 and has since expanded into numerous TV series, films, and video games. By March 2021, over 700 million Gunpla kits had been sold worldwide.
