A bomb threat targeting Delhi's historic Red Fort briefly put security agencies on high alert on Saturday before authorities confirmed that the warning was false. According to officials, the alert originated from a phone call received at the Mumbai Police control room, where the caller claimed that the iconic monument would be blown up. Given the seriousness of the threat, Mumbai Police immediately relayed the information to their counterparts in Delhi.

After receiving the alert, the Delhi Police's North District team launched a full-scale security response, carrying out extensive searches and verification around the Red Fort premises. Senior police officials later confirmed that the investigation found no credible threat and declared the call a hoax. However, efforts are continuing to identify the caller and determine the source of the false alarm.

The incident follows another recent fake bomb scare involving a high-profile government institution. On July 3, Bengaluru Police took custody of a Ghaziabad resident who was accused of sending a hoax bomb threat email to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters. The threatening email, received on July 2 at ISRO's Antariksha Bhavan on New BEL Road in Bengaluru, claimed that an explosion was imminent. Security personnel and bomb disposal teams thoroughly searched the premises but found nothing suspicious.

Investigators later traced the email to Ghaziabad using technical and digital forensic analysis. During the probe, police determined that the accused was suffering from a mental health condition. Authorities seized the electronic device allegedly used to send the email, and legal proceedings under the relevant sections of the law are ongoing.
