Defence Minister to attend the opening ceremony of the new Green Corridor and a new City Montessori School in Lucknow.

Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh will attend the inauguration of the newly constructed Green Corridor in Lucknow on Friday, a development expected to significantly improve traffic movement and urban connectivity in the state capital. In a message shared on X, Rajnath Singh stated that he would participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Green Corridor on March 13. He noted that the project is aimed at enhancing connectivity and providing relief from traffic congestion for residents of Lucknow. He also mentioned that he would attend the inauguration of a new building of City Montessori School at Golf City on the same day.

Singh confirmed his two day visit to his parliamentary constituency, Lucknow, scheduled for March 12 and 13, during which he will take part in several programmes including the inauguration of the Green Corridor. According to Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, the Defence Minister will leave his residence on Kalidas Marg at 11:20 am on Friday and reach CMS Golf City, Sector C, Pocket 9, at 11:30 am to inaugurate the Golf City branch building of City Montessori School. During the visit, Singh will also call on MLA Yogesh Shukla at his residence in Rajajipuram and visit the residence of the late former MLC Vindhyavasini Kumar at the MLA residence in Rajendra Nagar.

Later in the day, at around 4:30 pm, the Defence Minister, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will inaugurate the Green Corridor at an event organised at Samtamulk Square. He will inspect the stretch from Samtamulk Square to Daliganj Bridge and honour employees associated with the project. Following this, he will address a public gathering at Jhulelal Vatika in Hasanganj at 5:00 pm. Rajnath Singh also inaugurated Sagar Sankalp Reclaiming India's Maritime Glory, a defence and maritime dialogue organised jointly by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited and a private media organisation in Kolkata, West Bengal.

The Defence Minister highlighted the importance of self reliance, stating that it is essential for a nation to remain prepared and relevant in the current uncertain global environment. According to the Ministry of Defence, he also noted that the changing global scenario has led to the restructuring of supply chains, new strategic partnerships and a growing focus on maritime activities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to achieving self reliance across all sectors.
