The Gurugram Police along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) carried out a security inspection at the Municipal Corporation office in Sector 34 on Thursday after authorities received a bomb threat email. Officials said the alert was triggered after the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner received an email warning about a possible bomb threat. The message also referred to Municipal Corporation offices situated in Sectors 42 and 39. Security teams were immediately deployed to inspect the premises, while further information is still awaited.

The incident comes amid a series of similar threat emails reported in recent months. On May 21, multiple well-known schools in Chandigarh received anonymous bomb threats, prompting authorities to launch a large-scale security operation across the Union Territory. Emergency response measures were activated, and security agencies coordinated closely to examine the situation.

Chandigarh Police stated that the threatening emails followed a pattern similar to earlier cases, although no suspicious items were discovered during the searches. Officials emphasized that investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to prevent panic among residents. A comparable incident had also occurred in April when Chandigarh received an email threatening bomb blasts at several key locations, including the Mayor’s office, the Secretariat, Chandigarh University, Gandhi Bhavan, and multiple schools.

The email even mentioned specific timings for the alleged attacks, claiming schools would be targeted at 1:11 pm, the Mayor’s office at 2:11 pm, and the Secretariat at 3:11 pm. It also threatened a grenade attack at Gandhi Bhavan inside Chandigarh University later that evening. Authorities had tightened security across the city following the message, which also contained provocative references linked to Khalistan.

Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh’s office also received a similar threatening email, leading to heightened security measures in the national capital. Delhi Police recently arrested 47-year-old Srinivas Louis for allegedly sending more than 1,000 hoax threat emails and messages targeting government institutions, courts, and other offices nationwide.

According to police officials, the accused reportedly had an ongoing land dispute in Mysuru, Karnataka, involving his family property. Investigators claimed he felt frustrated with the judicial system and allegedly began sending threatening messages through his phone. Police further revealed that he had qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and had previously worked as an assistant professor.
