Authorities in Murshidabad district of West Bengal recovered a total of 55 socket bombs in two separate incidents, officials confirmed on Wednesday. According to Murshidabad Superintendent of Police Kumar Suny Raj, the first discovery involved 30 abandoned socket bombs found in a pond near Bariyanagar More, located under Baligram gram panchayat in the jurisdiction of Ranitala police station. Upon receiving the information, officers from Ranitala police station quickly reached the site to secure the area. The Bomb Squad was notified, and measures were taken to safely dispose of the explosives. Police personnel remained stationed at the location to ensure safety during the operation.

In a separate development, Domkal police recovered 25 socket bombs late Tuesday night during a targeted raid conducted based on a tip-off from a reliable source. The operation took place at Mehedipara bamboo garden, situated beside the Mehedipara-Bartanabad road. Police discovered an old nylon bag hidden in the bushes at Ward No. 6, containing approximately 25 socket bombs. Following the recovery, a police guard was posted at the site, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was informed to handle the explosives appropriately.
