Heavy rains lashing Mumbai, Pune, and Goa have impacted flight operations, prompting Akasa Air to caution passengers about possible delays across its network. The airline said adverse weather conditions have affected schedules and acknowledged the inconvenience caused to travelers. In a statement shared on X, Akasa Air requested passengers to remain patient, emphasizing that the disruption is weather-related and beyond the airline's control. It assured customers that its support teams are available to assist throughout the situation.

The airline also advised travelers to check the latest status of their flights on its official website before leaving for the airport to avoid unnecessary waiting and inconvenience. The travel advisory comes as several parts of western India continue to receive intense rainfall, leading to operational challenges for airlines and airport authorities.

Akasa Air recently celebrated a major milestone by adding its 40th aircraft to its fleet. The newest addition, a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 registered as VT-YBQ, landed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on July 3, 2026. The airline said the induction reflects its rapid expansion since it began commercial operations in August 2022. It is also the ninth aircraft to join the fleet in 2026, highlighting the carrier's aggressive growth strategy.

Before arriving in Bengaluru, the aircraft completed a long delivery journey from Seattle in the United States, making scheduled stops in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Cairo, Egypt. Akasa Air currently has a confirmed order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. With 40 aircraft now in service, the airline expects the remaining 186 jets to be delivered over the next six years, supporting its plans to expand both domestic and international operations.
