Aditya Dhar said Mukesh Chhabra pushed him to think bigger on Dhurandhar, adding that casting can make or break a film.

As Dhurandhar 2 continues its impressive box office run, Aditya Dhar took time to acknowledge casting director Mukesh Chhabra, crediting him for playing a key role in shaping the film. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Dhar described Chhabra as both a friend and a strong supporter, highlighting how essential casting is to a film’s success.
He shared that Chhabra believed in the scale and potential of Dhurandhar from the very beginning, even more than he did. While Dhar admitted he was initially cautious, Chhabra approached the project with confidence and boldness, helping expand its vision. Dhar also noted that casting the film was a challenging task due to the large number of characters and the need to get every role just right. However, Chhabra and his team tackled the process with determination, turning it into a focused mission and pushing Dhar to think beyond limitations, both in scope and detail.
Beyond his professional contribution, Dhar expressed gratitude for Chhabra’s unwavering support, calling him a trusted friend and someone who stood by the film even during moments of doubt. He emphasized that casting remains one of the most crucial yet often underappreciated aspects of filmmaking, capable of making or breaking a movie, and hoped the film would bring more recognition to casting directors.
Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, continues to perform strongly in theatres since its release on March 19. Directed by Dhar, the sequel features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Arjun Rampal, and has been receiving an enthusiastic response from audiences.
