Adel Aljubeir, Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, made a surprise visit to India and held talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday. Their discussions focused on easing tensions between India and Pakistan. Aljubeir's visit to New Delhi comes amid rising tensions between the two countries following Indian military strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Jaishankar shared on social media that his meeting with Aljubeir was productive, emphasizing India's strong position on countering terrorism. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New Delhi late Wednesday for a pre-arranged visit. Amid escalating regional tensions, Araghchi is set to hold extensive talks with Jaishankar and meet with President Droupadi Murmu later in the day.

India's military action on Wednesday, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, targeted nine locations, including Jaish-e-Mohammad's stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's headquarters in Muridke. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described the strikes as a "proportionate" response aimed at holding those responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack accountable, noting that Pakistan had not taken sufficient action against terrorist infrastructure on its soil.
