A new theme park is set to open in Okinawa, Japan this July, featuring scenic trekking routes, hot air balloon rides, and a variety of other attractions.

Japan remains a top travel destination for Singaporeans, with over 690,000 visitors from Singapore recorded in 2024. Soon, tourists will have a new spot to explore in Japan — Junglia, a theme park set to open on July 25 on Okinawa’s southern island. Spanning 600,000 square meters and built on a former golf course, Junglia is nestled in the forested Yambaru area. The park offers more than 20 attractions, including scenic outdoor treks, buggy rides, and soothing onsen facilities.
Some featured experiences highlighted on the park’s website are the Dinosaur Safari and Horizon Balloon — a hot air balloon ride providing sweeping views of the lush surroundings. Visitors can also enjoy a tree-top trekking adventure, which includes a suspension bridge and nine challenging obstacles high above the forest canopy.
In addition to the attractions, Junglia Okinawa houses Spa Junglia, which has both indoor and outdoor sections overlooking nature. Guests can relax in an infinity bath, onsen, sauna, limestone bath, and more. The park also hosts events like Junglia Splash Fest, a music and water festival, and Junglia Night Fest, a dance and music celebration culminating in a fireworks finale.
Developed at a cost of about 70 billion yen (around S$627 million), the company behind Junglia hopes to capitalize on Japan’s tourism upswing. CEO Tsuyoshi Morioka told Reuters that they expect thousands of visitors daily, and if successful, plan to replicate smaller versions of the park in other Asian countries such as Taiwan and Indonesia. Tickets for a single day at the park are priced at 8,000 yen (approximately S$72) for adults and 5,400 yen for children. Spa admission costs 2,800 yen for adults and 1,700 yen for children.
