Middle East Tensions Escalate as U.S. and Iran Trade Attacks Again
The United States and Iran carried out fresh military strikes against each other across the Middle East for the second day in a row, increasing pressure on a fragile ceasefire that had been in place since April.
According to U.S. Central Command, American forces conducted a series of "self-defense" operations targeting military installations, surveillance facilities, and radar systems in southern Iran. The strikes came shortly after President Donald Trump warned that the United States would respond forcefully to Iranian actions.
In retaliation, Iran launched attacks against U.S. military assets located in several regional countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Reacting to the developments, Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the U.S. strikes breached the ceasefire agreement reached two months ago, arguing that the latest actions had effectively undermined the truce and rendered it largely ineffective.
