Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently claimed that Iran is nearing the capability to build nuclear weapons. Following Israel's airstrikes on Iran last week, Netanyahu reiterated his concern, stating that Iran could be just months away from developing a nuclear bomb. According to the Israeli military, the strikes focused on nuclear-related targets, including the dormant Arak heavy water reactor and the Natanz facility, with plans to potentially strike the Fordo site as well. Iran, however, continues to assert that its nuclear programme is strictly for peaceful, civilian use.
