China Military Parade to Host Kim Jong Un, Putin, and Other Leaders
China’s foreign ministry has confirmed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will travel to Beijing next week to attend a large-scale military parade. The event is expected to mark Kim’s first participation in a major international gathering of world leaders.The parade, known as “Victory Day,” will commemorate the 80th anniversary of China’s war against Japan and the conclusion of World War II.Among the 26 heads of state set to attend is Russian President Vladimir Putin. His participation comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump expressed interest in holding talks with Kim.China plans to use the occasion to unveil its newest military capabilities. The parade will feature a wide array of equipment, including advanced tanks, aircraft, and anti-drone systems, offering the first full display of its reorganized armed forces.
