Roblox is experiencing outages for tens of thousands of users across the U.S., according to Downdetector.

Roblox Corporation, the developer behind one of the world’s most popular online gaming platforms, experienced a significant outage on Tuesday, affecting tens of thousands of users in the United States, according to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks service disruptions. As of 7:56 p.m. ET, Downdetector had recorded 3,737 reports from users facing issues with Roblox. However, the number of people affected appeared to be much higher, with user reports peaking at over 107,000. Downdetector compiles its data from a range of sources, including user-submitted reports and social media activity, meaning the actual number of impacted users may vary.
The outage disrupted access to Roblox’s platform, which is widely used for creating and playing user-generated content. Roblox allows its community to design and explore digital environments—such as games, events, and virtual worlds—through customizable character avatars. With millions of daily users, many of whom are children and teenagers, the platform is central to a large portion of the online gaming ecosystem. As of now, there has been no official statement or response from Roblox regarding the cause of the outage. Reuters reached out to the company for comment but did not receive an immediate reply.
Roblox has experienced outages in the past, sometimes due to server overload or technical glitches during platform updates. While it remains unclear what triggered the latest disruption, the scale of the incident has drawn widespread attention from users and gaming communities online. The company’s stock, listed under the ticker RBLX on the New York Stock Exchange, is closely watched by investors given Roblox's large user base and its growing influence in the metaverse and virtual experience space.
