India scripted history by clinching the Asia Cup 2025, and Bollywood stars have been quick to celebrate the nation’s cricketing triumph. Celebrities including Mammootty, Anupam Kher, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Preity Zinta expressed their joy and congratulated the Indian cricket team on social media.

Mammootty took to X to praise the team, writing, “Team India didn't just win the Asia Cup, they owned it. Champions without a single defeat. Absolutely magnificent!” Anupam Kher shared an exuberant video on Instagram, pumping his fist and cheering, “Bharat Mata ki jay! Kya baat hai! What a game! Jeetenge bhai jeetenge. Vande Mataram.” He added, “Khush ho gaya dil. Proud of my country, proud of this cricket team. Fantastic, very well played. God bless them.”

Preity Zinta congratulated the team as well, highlighting the key performances of Tilak Verma, Shivam Dube, and Kuldeep Yadav. She wrote, “Wow!!! What a game. CONGRATULATIONS to Team India for winning the Asia Cup! Thank you, Tilak, Shivam & Kuldeep, for this thrilling victory.” Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, who were promoting their film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, also joined the celebrations. Varun playfully teased Janhvi about her earlier comments praising India at a Janmashtami event.

On the field, Suryakumar Yadav’s India overcame an early wobble in their chase of 147 runs. Pakistan, after a strong opening stand of 84 runs, collapsed thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s 4/30. India lost early wickets, including captain Yadav for 1, but Tilak Varma (69* off 53 balls) anchored the innings alongside Sanju Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33).

With Dube hitting crucial boundaries in the final overs and Rinku Singh striking a boundary to finish the chase, India sealed a thrilling victory at 150/5 in 19.4 overs. This win adds to India’s dominant T20I run under Yadav’s captaincy, with 18 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties so far. India’s triumph in the Asia Cup not only showcases the team’s skill and resilience but also unites fans and celebrities alike in a wave of national pride.
