On Vishwakarma Puja, Nitish credited Rs 802 crore to the accounts of 1.64 million workers.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced that approximately ₹802 crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of 16.4 lakh construction workers under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme, coinciding with Vishwakarma Puja. The day also marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, making the occasion particularly significant. On this day, the state government is set to launch a web portal for the Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojna, aimed at streamlining services and benefits for citizens.
Vishwakarma Puja, dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect of the universe, is considered an auspicious day for workers and craftsmen. In a post on X, Nitish Kumar highlighted the timely fund transfer as a meaningful gesture, acknowledging the vital role construction workers play in the state’s growth. He praised PM Modi for his tireless dedication to the development of the country and welfare of its citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government has consistently focused on uplifting the most marginalized sections of society. The contributions of workers, he noted, are invaluable in helping Bihar achieve progress across multiple sectors. By directly crediting the funds to workers’ accounts, the state ensures that financial support reaches those who need it most, reflecting a commitment to social welfare and inclusive development. Kumar assured that the government will continue working for the betterment and empowerment of construction workers and other vulnerable communities in Bihar.
