On his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a nationwide campaign called Sewa Pakhwada, a 15-day drive dedicated to service, welfare, and development initiatives. Running from September 17 to October 2, the campaign spans the birth anniversaries of iconic leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, emphasizing the spirit of selfless service and nation-building.
Sewa Pakhwada aims to bring government welfare schemes directly to the grassroots, focusing on health, cleanliness, water supply, and environmental protection. One of the standout initiatives launched on this day is the Swasth Nari–Sashakt Pariwar campaign in Madhya Pradesh, which seeks to improve maternal and child health through extensive health camps and the use of an AI-powered chatbot, Suman Sakhi, providing maternal health guidance in remote areas.
The campaign includes a wide range of activities such as blood donation drives, cleanliness efforts, marathons, nutrition awareness, exhibitions promoting local-made products, and extensive health check-ups across the country. In Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated 15 major development projects including hospital expansions, the establishment of over 100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, dialysis centers, the deployment of drones for policing, and waste-to-energy plants—showcasing the scale and diversity of welfare measures tied to Sewa Pakhwada.
The Delhi government is also set to launch 75 development projects ranging from drainage and sanitation upgrades to new schools and healthcare facilities. Other states like Maharashtra are conducting large-scale cataract surgeries and eye care camps, underscoring the campaign’s health focus. This grassroots outreach by BJP members involves connecting with marginalized sections and spreading awareness about government schemes while reinforcing the ideals of self-reliance and Swadeshi (promoting local products).
Cultural and intellectual programs are integrated into the campaign as well, including exhibitions on PM Modi’s life and journey, interactive sessions with thinkers and leaders, and tree-planting activities, making Sewa Pakhwada not just about social welfare but also fostering national pride and unity. Sewa Pakhwada reflects PM Modi’s long-standing vision of using governance as a tool for direct public service, highlighting an inclusive, technology-assisted, and environmentally conscious approach. The campaign stands as a model of how political leadership can mobilize communities for comprehensive development and invite citizens from all walks of life to participate actively in Indias progress journey.
