Music icon and fashion tycoon Kanye West seems to be undergoing another transformation of his public identity. After officially changing his name to "Ye" in 2018, he’s now being referred to as "Ye Ye" in several recent business filings in California. According to documents reviewed by E! News, the name "Ye Ye" appears in filings connected to West’s companies, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, and Ox Paha Inc. The filings, submitted on June 10, list West as a key member or manager of these ventures, as indicated by his CFO, Hussain Lalani.

It’s not yet confirmed whether West, 48, has taken legal steps to officially change his name to "Ye Ye." In California, a legal name change involves publicizing the new name in a local newspaper and obtaining a judge’s approval. No such filing has been reported so far, E! News notes. West’s history with name changes reflects his deeper spiritual and philosophical beliefs. When he adopted the name "Ye" in 2018, he explained that it held biblical significance, representing the collective self—"you," "us," and all aspects of human nature. He said the name shift from "Kanye" (meaning “the only one”) to "Ye" symbolized a reflection of both good and bad within everyone. “I wanted something that matched the energy the universe was giving me,” he said at the time, tying it to the release of his eighth album Ye.

Recently, West also distanced himself from his former online identity. On May 31, he announced his decision to stop using his @kanyewest handle on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye.” He added that he plans to create a new account under the name “ye.” West shares four children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm—with his former wife, Kim Kardashian.
