A man from Singapore was arrested in Johor Bahru for road rage and allegedly causing damage to another vehicle.

A Singaporean man was arrested in Johor Bahru following a road rage incident in which he allegedly damaged another vehicle. A video posted on Facebook on Saturday (June 7) by the victim’s girlfriend showed a man shouting offensive language at another driver. The woman explained that the incident happened while she and her boyfriend were heading out for lunch and got stuck in traffic because the car ahead stalled.
As the traffic built up, many drivers, including the couple, repeatedly honked to urge the stalled vehicle to move. The stalled car moved slightly but then stopped again. At this point, the driver of a Singapore-registered car behind them got out and confronted the couple, accusing them of not honking or encouraging the stalled vehicle.
The woman said the man allegedly spat on and pushed her boyfriend during the confrontation, provoking him. She, feeling unwell, asked her boyfriend not to respond. Before leaving, her boyfriend suggested going to the police station together to settle the matter, which angered the man, who then kicked and hit their car, causing a noticeable dent. Although he said he would follow them to the police station, he instead drove away. The victim later filed a police report.
On June 8, the North Johor Bahru District Police confirmed receiving a report on June 7 from a 31-year-old local man. The complainant said the incident took place around 2:40 pm while he was driving a BMW in Skudai, Johor. He said he was repeatedly honked at by a 40-year-old Singaporean driving a Toyota Altis with a Singapore-registered plate. A verbal dispute followed, during which the complainant’s car was damaged. The police said the Singaporean man was arrested, had no previous criminal record, and tested negative for drugs. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 9.
